Ground Boots
GPS-tagged environmental data, collected by humans in the field. Water quality. Air quality. Connectivity. Infrastructure. Delivered as structured reports.
We drive. We collect. You get the data.
What We Collect
Every observation is GPS-tagged, timestamped, and tied to a verified route stop. No satellite estimates — real field measurements.
Water Quality
Surface water observations at rivers, lakes, canals, and dugouts. Visual clarity, colour, odour, debris, flow conditions, and contamination indicators.
Air Quality
Ambient air observations including visibility, particulate indicators, odour sources, and industrial proximity. Documented conditions at ground level.
Connectivity Mapping
Cell signal strength, carrier coverage, dead zones, and WiFi availability. Objective data for rural connectivity advocacy and infrastructure planning.
Infrastructure Surveys
Road conditions, signage, public facilities, trail access, and general infrastructure state. GPS-documented evidence for grant applications and planning.
Scenic & Recreation
Documented viewpoints, trail conditions, beach access, recreation facilities, and tourism assets. Geo-tagged evidence for destination marketing.
Custom Collection
Need specific data points along a route? We'll design a collection protocol for your requirements. Agricultural surveys, environmental baselines, or anything that needs boots on the ground.
Who This Is For
Organizations that need field data but don't have the capacity to collect it themselves.
Municipalities & Regional Districts
- Surface water monitoring obligations you can't staff
- Cell coverage evidence for broadband funding applications
- Road and infrastructure condition documentation
- Environmental baseline data for development approvals
- Recreation asset inventory and condition reports
Environmental Consultants
- Field observations for baseline assessments at a fraction of your hourly rate
- Repeat-visit documentation for seasonal change tracking
- GPS-verified evidence for regulatory submissions
- Supplemental data collection for remote project sites
Agriculture & AgTech
- Dugout and irrigation canal water quality observations
- Rural connectivity mapping for precision agriculture
- Field-level environmental conditions across regions
- Pairs with satellite crop reports for ground-truth validation
Tourism & Recreation
- Geo-tagged documentation of tourism assets and viewpoints
- Trail and beach condition monitoring
- Facility inventory for visitor planning
- Connectivity data for visitor experience planning
How It Works
From route planning to delivered report — simple, transparent, documented.
Define the Route
You tell us where you need data. We plan a route that covers your stops, or we propose one based on your region of interest.
Collect in the Field
We drive the route, stopping at each point to collect GPS-tagged, timestamped observations using our field collection platform.
Process & Validate
Raw observations are aggregated, cross-referenced with satellite data where applicable, and structured into a deliverable report.
Deliver the Report
You receive a structured PDF and raw data export. GPS coordinates, photos, timestamps, and findings — ready for your planning or compliance needs.
Sample Report
Here's what a Ground Boots deliverable looks like. This is sample data from a pre-trip route.

Data Specification
Every observation follows a consistent schema. Machine-readable, audit-ready.
| Field | Description | Format |
|---|---|---|
| GPS Coordinates | Latitude & longitude at observation point | WGS84 decimal degrees |
| Accuracy | GPS accuracy radius at time of reading | Meters |
| Timestamp | UTC time of observation | Unix epoch / ISO 8601 |
| Observation Type | Category of data collected | water / air / connectivity / scenic / general |
| Observation Data | Structured readings specific to type | JSON object |
| Photos | Geo-tagged field photos | JPEG with EXIF data |
| Route Stop | Named stop on the collection route | Stop ID + name |
| Field Notes | Observer commentary and context | Free text |
Current Coverage
Active and planned collection routes across Alberta and British Columbia.
