BizScan for Android
Use it on your own phone, for your own messages. Here are the terms.
1. Acceptance
By installing or using BizScan ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app. These terms are a legal agreement between you and Chris Ziehr / Nimpact Environmental Ltd ("we", "us", "the developer").
2. What BizScan Does
BizScan reads texts, call logs, and (optionally) message notifications already present on your Android device and sorts them into Personal and Business categories to help you find work-related messages. All processing happens on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
Authorized Use — Please Read
You may use BizScan only on a device and accounts that you own or are otherwise authorized to access. You must not use BizScan to access, read, or sort another person's messages or call records without their knowledge and consent. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the app complies with all applicable laws, including privacy and electronic-communications laws in your jurisdiction.
3. Your Responsibilities
- Use the app only on your own device and with your own accounts, or where you have explicit authorization.
- Do not use the app to violate anyone's privacy or any applicable law.
- Grant permissions (SMS, Call Log, Notification Access) at your own discretion — they are optional and revocable in Android Settings.
- You are responsible for reviewing the app's automatic Personal/Business classification; it is a keyword-based aid, not a guarantee of accuracy.
4. No Warranty
BizScan is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that classification will be accurate, or that it will capture every relevant message. You use the app at your own risk.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or business, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) BizScan — including any missed, misclassified, or deleted message. Because the app stores data only on your device, you are responsible for your own data management, including the use of the in-app Reset and Delete features.
6. Accuracy & Business Decisions
BizScan is a productivity aid. It may misclassify messages or miss some. Do not rely on it as the sole record of business communications or for any legally or financially critical purpose. Always verify important messages in your device's native Messages and Phone apps.
7. Intellectual Property
BizScan and its design are the property of Chris Ziehr / Nimpact Environmental Ltd. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app for your own purposes. You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the app without permission.
8. Updates & Availability
The app is distributed as a sideloaded APK via the DriftWest app store. We may release updates but are under no obligation to provide support, updates, or continued availability.
9. Termination
You may stop using BizScan at any time by uninstalling it. These terms remain in effect for any period during which you used the app.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
