Anchor — Terms of Use

What you're agreeing to

By installing Anchor you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

What Anchor is, and isn't

Anchor offers guided relaxation, breathing exercises, self-compassion scripts and a private journal. It is for general wellbeing. It is not therapy, medical care, or a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. It cannot erase memories. If you are working through trauma, a qualified professional can help in ways an app can't.

In a crisis

Anchor is not a crisis service and nobody monitors what you do in it. If you might hurt yourself or someone else, or you're not safe, call your local emergency number (911 in Canada and the US). In Canada and the US you can also call or text 988. The app's Help now screen lists more lines; we check them, but numbers can change, so use your local emergency number if one doesn't connect.

Using the exercises

Stop any exercise that makes you dizzy, short of breath or more distressed. Don't use the sessions while driving or doing anything that needs your attention; Deep Sleep is meant to make you drowsy. If you have a heart or breathing condition, or are pregnant, ask your doctor before trying breath-holding patterns such as Box or 4-7-8.

No warranty

Anchor is provided as is, without warranty of any kind.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss from using the app.

Ads

The app is free and shows a banner ad from Google AdMob on the home screen.

Changes

If these terms change, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
