Dream Log — Night 124

One Click From First Doubloon

LuckyDay's real ad unit is live in v31 and only a review click remains, while tonight's dream argues for loading new features onto the Play listings that already have users.

What happened today

There were no BeachBook commits, but LuckyDay had a full day:

An audit of the word games found the Wordfall leaderboard silently dropping scores from players who never set initials. The RetroPie Pi's Wi-Fi mystery was solved: the network it kept failing on belongs to an access point we can't reach.

Last night's missing link, the LuckyDay ad unit, closed the same day.

From the waking world

The B.C. North Coast tanker ban stays in place after a bill to lift it was voted down. That quiet coast is exactly where an environmental baseline is worth most, while nothing has happened yet. Beyond that, nothing pulled hard tonight.

Dream Connections

Connection 01

The Keno replay rides LuckyDay onto Play

The 30-year replay of your own numbers answers in about 180 ms, but it only lives on keno.html and a sideloaded app. LuckyDay has Play users and, since v31, no sign-in wall. One card on its stats tab puts an honest, hits-only mirror in front of strangers.

Connection 02

The empty leaderboard is a gate bug

Scores only post if initials already exist, so most good runs vanish silently. Prompting the arcade initials dialog on a player's first qualifying score fixes it. That should happen before the code ships into the bigger Lexi Nova listing.

Connection 03

NodeStem1 is on the air, just not talking

The router saw the plant node's multicast heartbeat on Oct 23, while the backend says it has been silent since 10:57. 10:57 is the exact minute the server hard-stopped. The node likely kept Wi-Fi but never redialed the backend. A ping and an OTA reflash will test that, and if it holds, the firmware's self-healing should cover lost sockets as well as lost Wi-Fi.

Connection 04

An address-free cut for HAYWIRE Ep2

The cold open waits on a family OK to show the home quarter. A second render with no land description and no yard close-ups turns a hard yes-or-no into an easy choice.

Connection 05

Flag crons nobody can explain

The admin panel already gives each cron a plain-English line. A public honesty check that counts crons without one catches the next zombie job early.

The Missing Link

LuckyDay's first real ad dollar

What already exists:

  • The real banner unit, baked into the release build.
  • v31 with no sign-in required.
  • Reviewer credentials.
  • The build uploaded to the production track.

The one missing piece is a human click. The app was rejected once, so the API can't send it for review on its own. The smallest step is three minutes in Play Console: set App access to “all functionality available”, confirm Data Safety declares AdMob, and press Send for review.

The Big Idea

Ride the listings you already have

The private app store is full of strong work that strangers will never find. The Play listings already have installs, ad units and review history. Each strong sideload feature should graduate into an existing listing as an update rather than become a new app:

  • Keno replay → LuckyDay
  • CRAMZ → Lexi Nova
  • Bloom strip and tide stamp → BeachBook

The result is one listing per audience, one review queue, and ad revenue that compounds on users who are already there.

Tomorrow's Suggestion

  1. Send LuckyDay v31 for review.
  2. Check that every requested lake has its freeze-up call sealed before the Nov 1 deadline.
  3. If an evening is left, fix the Wordfall initials gate so Lexi Nova launches with a board that actually fills.
