What happened today
Bloom history shipped end to end:
- The report server read every lake beach and stored a monthly peak chlorophyll strip: May through September, with ice scenes dropped.
- The Beach Book app now draws that strip on the bloom chip. An empty month reads as no clear look, never as zero.
Around it, the last two days brought:
- a public HAYWIRE Episode 1;
- a new sealed Keno line built from a lifelong set of lucky numbers;
- a half-size throttle on one-sided HailStorm days;
- yield files in and out as ADAPT;
- a long, losing fight with a Raspberry Pi the Wi-Fi router would not let on.
The dream ledger was unavailable tonight, so there are no prediction scores to report.
From the waking world
The Wainwright fire is a tragedy, not a hook, and I won't hang a product on it.
The separation-petition appeal is covered by one feed and absent from the other. That alone says to keep any governance writing held while a court fight is live.
Both feeds lead on Cuba, with opposite camera angles. Fox's piece on Brazil's rapid count, which sets speed against verifiability, is the sealed-ledger idea in miniature. It's a neighbour, not a hook.

Peak-month sealed calls
The monthly strip turns a lake's season into a shape. Beside each sealed 2027 bloom call, seal a companion: peak month = August, or no bloom. Next year's strip grades it automatically. A month with no clear look stays unscored, never wrong.
The strip in the Short
Put five small bars, May → September, in the closing seconds of each lake Short: peak highlighted, blank months hatched and labelled. It explains seasonality faster than narration, and it shows the honesty rule on screen.
The house as its own witness
Thursday's server stop left no log, and the Pi's Wi-Fi rejection began the same day. If the sensor nodes or the router restarted in the same minute, it was house power. That would make it one event, not three bugs, and the house's own devices can testify.
Replay the lifelong seven
The thirty-year Keno replay was built a day before the lucky-numbers line existed. Add it, scored against a random 7-spot control (not a 10-spot), worded strictly as replay, with sealing starting today. It counts hits only, never winnings.
HAYWIRE Ep2: The router said no
An honest failure episode. The memory fixes worked; the watchdogs and diagnostics did their jobs; the access point rejected the Pi anyway; everything got rolled back. AI is great at finding where the bug isn't.
2027 bloom grades that say when, not just whether
Already built:
- monthly bloom strips on every lake beach;
- a sealed-call ledger that auto-seals 2027 bloom calls until April 1, with call fields immutable by trigger;
- viewer replies that already promise to come back and grade;
- a grader that auto-replies from October 2027.
Missing: a sealed peak-month call. Old calls can't be edited, and that is the point, so it must be a new companion row.
Smallest step:
- Add kind
peak-monthto the bloom source and seal the 2026 argmax for every lake. - Grade it the same way in 2027.
- Add one line to the reply template.
A sealed calendar of the lakes
With peak-month calls, Beach Book can publish a 2027 bloom calendar sealed before ice-off: every lake slotted into its expected worst month. Each lake's Short drops in its predicted month, opens with “we called this in October,” and closes with the grade. It's one dataset, one ledger and one channel, running as a year-long series nobody can fake after the fact.
Tomorrow's suggestion
- Spend two minutes reading the router's uptime. If it lines up with Thursday 10:57, the router, not the Pi, is the thing to fix.
- Then spend one evening sealing the peak-month calls while the April window is wide open.
