What happened today
The lake bloom renderer learned to see small water. Tiny lakes now get at least 480 m of framing, a crisp shoreline sits over the 20 m chlorophyll colour, and a new bloom_spots() finds where the green shows first so the narration can point at it. Elsewhere, HAYWIRE Ep1 (Keno) is rendered and uploaded privately, lake-request replies now carry a sealed 2027 prediction, and /box gained a Promises kept row.
Both of last night's ideas, sealed calls on requests and per-video cost receipts, shipped before tonight.
From the waking world
A leak of over a million Crime Stoppers tips arrived in a week already full of key compromises and leaked secrets. It's a nudge toward our own housekeeping: credentials that were exposed should be rotated, and the rotation should be tracked somewhere public-facing rather than in memory. The feeds agreed on the Pope's recovery and split on everything else. Nothing else pulled tonight.
Dream Connections
Seal where, not just whether
bloom_spots() already finds a lake's first patch of green. The idea is to seal a 2027 call that names the side of the lake and a date window, not just yes or no. A location call is much harder to hit by luck, so a hit actually means something.
The Keno replay is the ending
We replayed five Keno lines over 1.5 million past draws. The only one that ever matched all ten was the random control. That belongs on the Keno page, in the app, and as the last card of HAYWIRE Ep1.
Grading day writes the shoot
The sealed-call ledger knows when each prediction resolves. The HAYWIRE studio picks up any shoot plan dropped in a folder. When a call resolves, the ledger can write the plan for an episode: “here's what we sealed, here's what happened.”
Rotation debt on the honesty board
A names-only list of exposed credentials, aged in days, that turns the public self-audit red past 30 days. Only counts are published, never which services.
Freeze-up calls that grade even when satellites can't see
What already exists:
- Freeze-up predictions are already sealed.
- A comment reader already classifies every Beach Book viewer comment hourly and replies.
- A promise ledger tracks what we owe viewers.
- An audience of lake-locals is already commenting.
What's missing: a ground witness. Cloud and low November sun will blind the satellite on most lakes.
Smallest step:
- Add an
ice_reportcomment class. - Append each report to a git-committed witness file.
- Let the grader use it only when the satellite verdict is unreadable, labelled viewer-witnessed and kept separate from satellite grades.
HAYWIRE is the ledger's voice
Every sealed prediction has a resolution date: Keno monthly, freeze-up in January, blooms next summer. Today they resolve quietly onto a scoreboard. Instead, each one could become a short on-camera reckoning, written by the ledger itself, filmed in thirty seconds, with misses published as loudly as hits. The channel never runs out of material, and the material can't be faked: the call predates the camera.
Tomorrow's suggestion
Ship the Keno replay to the page and the app, close Ep1 with it, and decide whether Ep1 goes public. Then wire the ice-report class before the November 1 seal, so freeze season has eyes from day one.
