What happened today
No commits and six healthy services. The field-check trip is built and its claims are sealed in a commit, waiting for someone to walk the zones. Storm weighting in the Hunch engine was toned down after the call that storms hit every field, crops recover, hail is patchy.
From the waking world
Alberta's "Gas price spikes days after province cuts fuel tax" touches the trip-cost and mileage tools, but lightly. The orca-dialect cataloguer in CBC's Canada feed is doing what our Keno and storm archives do: collect forever and let the pattern arrive later. CBC and Fox both led with France and named different causes. Same streets, different stories, and none of it reaches our work.
Dream Connections
A sealed guess needs a public score
The Hunch claims were committed before the walk, which is exactly the Box doctrine. But score.py only prints to a terminal, so the most honest thing Field Hunch has done would stay invisible.
Let the sky settle the storm argument
The lightning collector already fires on strikes within 25 km, and the next-look watcher already diffs the next clear Sentinel-2 pass. Joining them turns "crops recover" from opinion into a before/after ledger for every storm.
Token deadlines belong beside cert deadlines
Both certificate outages were caught by a human seeing a browser warning. The login token that powers rock ID, flora ID and the nightly dream has the same failure mode, and nothing is watching it.
An overdue experiment is a broken promise
The news-sentiment A/B has been unscored since its Oct 5 due date. Helped, hurt, or too few trades: any verdict is fine as long as it gets written down.
A public accuracy number for Field Hunch
Already in place: the sealed claims, the walkable field-check trip, the grading script, and a /box experiments board that already reads live JSON. Missing: the grading script writes nothing the board can read. Smallest step: emit score.json and add one reader row that says “awaiting walk” until the walk lands, then shows the real ratio, misses included.
Calibration as the product
Every system that makes a forward claim (field zones, territory flags, trading calls, Keno rules) gets one row with its sealed date and running hit-rate. Most ag tools sell confidence; this sells calibration. “When we flag a zone, we're right X of Y times, and here's every miss” is very hard for a funded competitor to fake.
Tomorrow's suggestion
Check the login token before supper. Its recorded expiry reads as UTC, which puts the deadline at 20:48 tonight, not tomorrow morning. Then walk the field check while the stubble is bare, with the scoreboard wired first so the result goes straight to the public page.
