Dream Connections
Roadside weeds are the county's other road problem
Ground Boots photos already run through a corridor-mode plant ID. Alberta counties must control noxious weeds on road allowances, and their Agricultural Service Boards employ inspectors to do it. The same drive yields a second deliverable for a second budget line.
Seal predictions before the outcome
Lottery picks, mined rules, sentiment calls, satellite estimates on beaches nobody has visited yet: all prospective, all sitting in editable files. A sha256 commit written before the outcome, revealed after, turns “owe no false mint” into a mechanism.
Five things that found nothing
An observer effect that didn't show up, a Keno picker at chance, a trading model exactly equal to “always up,” beach-texture models that died under cross-validation, and placed pickers that were noise. Null results with receipts make a rare, honest episode.
Photo a scratcher into the ledger
The vision-extraction pattern from the rock identifier can read a ticket photo, and the photo's EXIF time gives the purchase instant. That cuts the typing friction that keeps tickets out of the data.
The trip bills itself
The mileage logbook already knows every kilometre, and the client report already exists. One join puts the true cost-per-stop on the page, which either validates the ride-along price or corrects it.

What exists:
- The field app, with a photo on every stop and turn-by-turn guide mode.
- The flora tagger, already identifying every field photo in corridor context.

What's missing: a filter that maps identified taxa against Alberta's Weed Control Regulation lists (Prohibited Noxious and Noxious) and prints each match with stop, coordinates, photo and confidence.
Smallest step:
- Write
weeds_ab.jsonand join it in the report. - On the drive, snap one vegetation photo per stop, from a standstill.
- Backfill flora IDs afterwards.
The catch: late-season plants and genus-level IDs. Every flag reads “candidate for inspector confirmation”: measured, thresholded, human-confirmed.
The Sealed Ledger
Every forward-looking claim across the fleet gets hashed and timestamped before its outcome exists: lottery picks, trading predictions, dream forecasts, satellite beach estimates, crop flags, weed flags.
- One append-only file holds the seals.
- The
/boxpublishes hashes live, reveals them after, and keeps score. - The honesty engine fails loudly if a reveal doesn't match its seal.
Every pitch then cites a verifiable forecast record instead of adjectives: we said it before we knew.
Tomorrow's suggestion
Make the county loop carry two cargoes:
- Before leaving: add the weed list and plan the vegetation stops.
- At 08:00: move the frozen lottery picks somewhere durable, then score them.
- Tonight: run the flora backfill and render one pack with both roughness and weed candidates.
The sentiment A/B missed its deadline, but a bug found yesterday would have poisoned it anyway. The new verdict date is October 5.
