Kimberley is deep in the same B.C. interior corridor where Ground Boots drove the Trans-Canada in May — 280km from Revelstoke, and CSRD FireSmart (Salmon Arm, 2023 Bush Creek East scar) is an active warm pitch target. Wildfire evacuees are, definitionally, temporarily unhoused: the exact population Barrel Club is philosophically aligned with. A seasonal tie-in where tributes collected July–September go toward a named evac-support fund gives Barrel Club a concrete story and a press hook. Mechanical change: two lines in barrel.js, a campaign banner on barrel.html. No new payment logic. The Genius Well connects too — fire evacuees in rural Alberta carry the kind of pattern-recognition wisdom Barrel Club calls "genius."
Social Pipe Triage: One Fix, Three Channels Unblocked
The social scheduler is effectively dead: X is billing-blocked (top up ~$5 in the dev portal), LinkedIn is auth-dead (/api/linkedin/auth, 5 minutes), YouTube is token-expired (yt-auth.js url → exchange <code>, 5 minutes). All three failures are credential and billing issues, not code bugs. Together they represent 40+ posts failing silently since mid-June. Estimated real time to fix all three: 15 minutes total. This is not a build task. It is three browser tabs.
HailStorm Verdict → Next Hypothesis: Trade Volatility, Not Direction
Both current strategies predict direction. A third hypothesis: predict volatility — sit out on low-volatility days and only trade when the edge is largest. The paper account infrastructure is proven, verdict.py is written, the baseline is locked. A volatility filter gate (Bollinger width threshold, ~20 lines in base_strategy.py) is the natural next experiment under the same discipline that produced tonight's clean result.
Town Shapes × Ground Boots: Route Shapes as Terrain Signatures
Town Shapes uses normalized 128-point Fourier outlines to find look-alikes. Ground Boots GPS tracks, when simplified and normalized, are shapes — corridor signatures. The serious use: matching terrain profiles across Canada to support future Ground Boots expansion pitches ("this route through Salmon Arm has a similar terrain signature to the Manning Park corridor"). The playful use: a "Route Shape Puzzle" where the silhouette is a GPS track instead of a municipal boundary.
Genius Well needs one POST endpoint to stop being a dead stub and become Barrel Club's viral engine
What already exists: (1) Barrel Club is live with a working Stripe tribute backend in routes/barrel.js and a barrel_tributes table. (2) The Genius Well UI is on the page — 6 open riddles, a "send raw thoughts" CTA. (3) The analytics server already handles moderation queues (BenchBook, collect.html, field trip requests) — the pattern is proven. What's missing: the receiving end. The Genius Well is currently a mailto:info@nimpact.ca stub. No submission endpoint, no queue, no way for a visitor's thought to appear anywhere. The smallest step: POST /api/barrel/genius → barrel_genius table (10 lines in barrel.js), wire the form on barrel.html to POST instead of mailto. Once real submissions exist, the social scheduler barrel hat has content: "A van-lifer from Lethbridge on riddle 3: [thought]" — and that's the post people share.
Fire Season Corridor Baseline Package — sell the "before" when organizations need it most
The operator drove the Trans-Canada corridor in May: Revelstoke, Rogers Pass, Golden, Yoho, Kicking Horse, Lake Louise. Fuel load observations, connectivity data, cell dead zones, road conditions, timestamped photos — all timestamped before fire season. The BeachBook STAC scan endpoint (POST /api/scan) can run an NDVI/NDMI baseline on the corridor bounding box from Sentinel-2 imagery from May. Combined: one new report template ("Corridor Baseline Package"), one price point ($299 CAD), one well-timed follow-up to CSRD and Miistakis that opens with the Kimberley evacuation as context. The autopilot is armed. The pitch: "We were there in May. Here's what it looked like before the fire season. Here's the satellite baseline. This is what you compare your post-event survey against." No new build. One PDF template, one email, two warm contacts.
